About the role
The Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing client invoices and supporting attorneys and legal staff. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Edit prebills to facilitate time and disbursement transfers, time splits, on account transfers, time adjustments, and disbursement adjustments.
- Print, sort, and distribute prebills for attorney review.
- Create and forward drafts and/or finalized computerized invoices to attorneys for further edits.
- Maintain client billing addresses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter exemptions for billing by the billing cutoff date and monitor their status through month-end.
- Manage and approve write-offs and monthly exemptions for billing.
- Input and update alternate rates in the computer system accurately and promptly.
- Provide attorneys and legal staff with requested billing statistics using Excel spreadsheets.
- Educate attorneys and legal staff on billing deadlines and address any billing issues.
- Communicate with attorneys and clients regarding billing matters, maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.
- Track and submit invoices, resolving any billing issues via electronic and web-based systems.
- Participate in monthly check-in meetings with the billing manager to discuss progress and address any issues.
- Respond to internal and external client inquiries in a timely manner and seek feedback as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of Law Firm Billing experience.
- Previous experience with Aderant/CMS is preferred.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00
