Billing Specialist

Koya Medical is a privately held company founded in 2018, dedicated to developing breakthrough treatments for venous diseases and lymphedema to enhance patient mobility and personalized care. Responsibilities

• Submit claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance companies using Niko Health claim submission software and Salesforce.
• Analyze and post EOB payments and denials in all billing systems.
• Determine root cause and prevention of future rejections & denials, advising management and appeals team as necessary.
• Route claims and balances deemed uncollectible to Financial Patient Responsibility Review or Write Off Queues.
• Aid and communicate effectively with patients, doctors, customers, and coworkers regarding billing inquiries.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to improve departmental workflow.
• Assist with other duties and projects as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some college and/or medical billing certificate preferred.
• 2+ years of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Commercial Insurance experience, especially in HME, highly preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Salesforce.

• A comprehensive understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Commercial Insurance program rules.
• Strong work ethic and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Solutions-oriented approach and ability to prioritize tasks.

Skills

• Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Salesforce.
• Comprehensive understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Commercial Insurance program rules.
• Ability to take direction and communicate effectively with customers and employees.
• Strong attention to detail and solutions-oriented problem solving.

Benefits

Pay

$55,000 - $60,000 per year

Schedule

This position is full-time, exempt, and located at our Dallas, TX facility. It is a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days of in-office work per week.
