About the role
Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position may be filled remotely or in any of our locations.
Responsibilities
- Aid in initiating and implementing the monthly client billing process, including reviewing and editing proformas, modifying time and cost entries, writing off amounts, and ensuring rates are accurate.
- Ensure accuracy of billing by verifying and compiling supporting documentation.
- Manage the distribution of invoices according to Firm and client guidelines, using e-billing systems like eBillingHub and external vendors.
- Resolve billing disputes and discrepancies promptly, and coordinate appeals for rejected invoices.
- Communicate with attorneys and clients to address billing inquiries and provide updates on accruals, status, and budgets.
- Maintain accurate records and address other billing-related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent work experience, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience in legal billing and client invoicing.
- Knowledge of electronic billing processes and procedures, particularly with eBillingHub.
- Experience with third-party e-billing vendor sites such as Legal Tracker, TyMetrix 360, CounselLink, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as needed.

The firm offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, ranging from $56,000 to $114,000 annually in California, with varying ranges in other states.
