Billing Specialist
Position Summary/Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring efficient billing processes that will lead to a faster reimbursement turnaround for billing and collection activities for all agency billable services to Medicare, Medicaid, MCO's, CCC Plus Plans, commercial insurance, HMO's and other third party pay sources.
- Download all services from the EHR billing system
- Manually process claims as necessary
- Review each claim for accuracy and ensure the correct ICD10 coding (diagnosis code) and authorization match the billed service prior to submission to reduce rejections
- Research claim denials through correspondence and research of denied Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to validate the denial reason or correct the issue
- Contacting insurance carriers to determine specific steps to get claims paid
Requirements
- Education: Associate's degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in healthcare. Experience in reimbursement field preferred.
Background Check
Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
Hiring Range
The anticipated base salary for this position is $42,448.44 to $45,890.21. Actual compensation offered within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities), geographic location, complexity of role, and other relevant business considerations.

- Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach above their head
- Use of hands for placing and pulling objects
- Frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 15 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 15 pounds
- Close vision (computer and working with spreadsheets)

The anticipated base salary for this position is $42,448.44 to $45,890.21. Schedule
This position is allowed a hybrid schedule once completely trained. Will rotate working remote vs. in office.
