About the role
A high-risk obstetrical office in Johnson City is seeking an experienced, full-time Medical Insurance Biller to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Verification of appropriate diagnosis codes with CPTs
- Verification of appropriate CPTs and modifiers
- Claims submission
- Posting of claim payments
- Accounts Receivable follow-up
- Outgoing calls to patients related to outstanding balances, insurance plan confirmation, and other inquiries related to claims
- Obtaining prior authorizations
- Daily entering of patient charges for multiple locations
- Insurance verifications
- Assist with denials, medical record requests, and other information as needed for claims
- Appointment scheduling
- Scanning of patient records
- Collaborate as a team player with effective communication with providers and other team members
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in adherence with HIPAA
- Adhere to all policies and procedures including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year billing experience; experience in OB/GYN preferred
- Knowledge of medical coding and third-party operating procedures and policies
- High school diploma or completion of medical billing courses
- Comfortable and familiar with operation of computers and basic office equipment
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong patient service skills
