Job Description

The Billing Clerk is responsible for managing the billing process from start to finish, ensuring accurate customer quotes, accurate and timely invoicing, maintaining up-to-date customer records, and resolving billing-related inquiries. Working closely with supervisors and managers, this role verifies charges, prepares invoices and credit memos, and issues them to customers via mail or email. The clerk also calculates amounts owed, updates billing systems, and supports financial operations through document management and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the billing process from start to finish to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Verify charges and prepare invoices and credit memos for distribution to customers.
  • Calculate amounts owed and update billing systems accordingly.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records and resolve billing-related inquiries.
  • Cookordination with other departments to ensure smooth billing cycles and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support to financial operations through document management and customer service.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in data entry for inputting detailed and accurate shipment quote information.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate quoting information.
  • Experience in logistics, invoicing, medical billing, transportation, quoting, customer service, accounts receivable, and billing collections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly email communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of business billing experience is nice to have.
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with a team of around 13 in the department. The setup consists of cubicles, and the dress code is casual, excluding workout wear. The position is on-site with a training shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Operating hours range from 7 AM to 6 PM, and shift timings will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
