Bilingual Sr. Resource Parent Coordinator

The New York Foundling is a New York-based nonprofit that has supported hundreds of thousands of individuals since 1869. We help children and families navigate foster care, strengthen families facing conflict and poverty, support individuals with developmental disabilities, and provide access to quality health and mental health services. Our interrelated programs offer a whole-person, whole-family, and whole-life approach to lifelong resilience and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Train, assess, certify, and recertify resource families as part of a centralized homefinding department.
• Study and assess recruited and kinship homes, including gathering documentation, interviewing family members, household members, babysitters, and references.
• Conduct home visits to evaluate family dynamics and the safety of the physical environment.
• Ensure all homes meet required physical standards and interview collateral resources as needed.
• Write complete and timely home studies.
• Enter all necessary information into the NYS Connections home record promptly.
• Conduct and assist with NTDC, TRIPP, and recertification training for resource parents.
• Complete annual recertification of resource families, including home visits, interviews, safety assessments, document collection, and written assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology from a U.S. accredited institution (or credential evaluation for non-U.S. degrees).
• Child welfare experience or experience working with families (homefinding experience preferred).
• Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
• Ability to make assessments and a demonstrated commitment to safety.
• MAPP certification or willingness to become certified.
• Ability and willingness to work some weekends and evenings.

Pay

Salary range starts at $54,105.90 with additional 5% senior additive, education additive, and language additive.
