About the role
The Bridge is in search of a Resident Advocate who will provide direct services to residents in a 100-bed emergency shelter setting for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and women and children experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake of residents, provide orientation to educate resident about emergency shelter guidelines, services available, make room assignment;
- Supervise residents to ensure compliance with shelter guidelines and maintain overall safety while providing quality client services;
- Prepare documentation of services provided in compliance with grants using clear and concise narratives; and maintain statistical records for files as assigned;
- Update and assist with overseeing the HCDV shelter bed database;
- Ensure TBOTW account is updated and accurate bed availability is noted, daily;
- Conduct routine walk-through of facility to monitor, and assist with the cleanliness of the shelter to help ensure resident safety; and comply with shelter guidelines;
- Provide orientation to volunteers and new staff as designated;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Full Time/Non-Exempt: 36-hours a week
- Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 7am-7pm. Monday - Thursday; 3pm-11pm; Friday; 7pm-11pm.
- $33,696 annually
- High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree is highly desired.
- Two years' experience providing direct care in social services or residential setting with at-risk clientele.
- Bilingual Required; English/Spanish.
- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
