Bilingual Removal Defense Attorney (Criminal Law Background) NJ Based

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and hard-working individual to become our new bilingual Removal or Criminal Immigration Staff Attorney. Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense or high-stakes litigation and must be a licensed attorney and a member of the New Jersey Bar.

Responsibilities

• Master a New Field: Transition your trial skills to represent clients in Master Calendar, Bond, and Individual Hearings
• Strategize: Develop innovative defense strategies, including Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and Adjustment of Status
• Collaborate: Work with a dedicated team of paralegals and case managers to build ironclad cases
• Participate in "Consultation Day" events to evaluate case eligibility and explain legal options
• Review immigration court packages and humanitarian visa applications (VAWA, SIJS, U, and T Visas) to ensure they meet firm and USCIS standards

Requirements

• Legal Credentials: Must be a licensed attorney and a member of the New Jersey Bar
• Litigation Background: 1-3 years of experience, ideally in criminal defense or high-stakes litigation
• Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in both English and Spanish
