We are seeking a Bilingual HSE Field Specialist for our Belton, TX Division office to play a key role in fostering a strong, proactive safety culture across our road, bridge, and highway construction projects.

About the Role

This position is more than ensuring compliance, it’s about being present in the field, building relationships, and making a real difference every day. As an HSE Field Specialist, you’ll work closely with operations, supervisors, and craft personnel to promote safety awareness, reinforce accountability, and provide practical solutions that help prevent incidents before they occur.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with operations and craft personnel to drive meaningful safety improvements and make a visible impact each day.
• Absorb and practice safe work habits at all times.
• Follow verbal and written instructions clearly and accurately.
• Safely use hand and power tools as needed.
• Report to and support immediate supervision.
• Deliver work that meets project quality expectations.
• Accountable for tools and materials at shift’s end.
• Work effectively as part of a team, supporting others.

Requirements

• Demonstrate and practice safe work habits at all times.
• Follow verbal and written instructions clearly and accurately.
• Safely use hand and power tools as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of safety experience in heavy civil, road, bridge, or highway construction.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to prepare investigations and reports.
• Completion of required pre-employment testing and new hire orientation quizzes.
• Able to pass drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
• Meet all client safety requirements including PPE and grooming standards.
• Able to properly wear safety equipment such as respirator, fall protection, and hearing protection.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Pass required physical exams as needed.
• Climb ladders, scaffolds, and work safely at heights.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. safely, requesting help for heavier loads.
• Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven ground surfaces.
• Work extended hours in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and rain.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Work performed on industrial construction sites and training environments.
• Navigate uneven ground and obstructed paths.
• Work performed both at elevation and in confined spaces.
• Exposure to outdoor elements including extreme temperatures and humidity.
• Work around heavy equipment, noise, and potential chemical hazards.

Company Overview

Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities such as the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
