Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer to join our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Laredo, TX. This role will provide technical support and oversight for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and superintendents with project planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Prepare and maintain daily reports, progress logs, and other project documentation.
- Perform quantity take-offs, material tracking, and cost control support.
- Aid in the resolution of field issues and technical problems.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Ensure accurate layout and surveying for construction activities.
- Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
- Experience with surveying and layout techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of construction project management software (e.g., HCSS, Primavera) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites in the Laredo, TX area.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.

Heavy Civil is comprised of six operating units that include North Louisiana Operations, South Louisiana Operations, Texas Operations, HMA Paving Operations, Concrete Paving Operations, and the Infrastructure Rehabilitation Unit.
