About the role

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a leading institution dedicated to advancing health and wellness through teaching, discovery, and patient care. The Pediatric Infectious Disease position within the VISPR Program focuses on conducting clinical and translational research to understand and reduce the burden of infectious diseases in young children and specialized populations.

Responsibilities

  • Affirmatively assesses patient eligibility by gathering and reviewing medical histories.
  • Maintains and monitors patient records to document treatments and outcomes.
  • Reports adverse reactions according to Vanderbilt and protocol guidelines.
  • Abstracts and records patient data onto required case report forms.
  • Sets up timelines for tests and procedures, and coordinates with patient's primary care provider or testing facilities.
  • Prepares kits for procedures, labels tubes, and schedules collection times.
  • Mails samples to designated laboratories and calls or sends questionnaires to check outcomes.
  • Examine data and records to ensure compliance with protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Experience is not required but helpful
  • Previous patient care or customer service experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Works on-site at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Pay
