About the role

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support childhood obesity prevention research in the INNOVATE lab at the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Equity at Mass General for Children. This includes a randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating if a pediatric intensive health behavioral and lifestyle treatment (IHLBT) intervention reduces BMI and improves asthma outcomes when delivered via telehealth.

The role involves participant recruitment, enrollment, and consent; study activity scheduling; conducting baseline and follow-up surveys in English and Spanish via telephone, email, and some in-person visits at MGH; entering study data into REDCap databases; and assisting with other study operations. The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Review proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
  • Recruit patients for clinical trials and conduct phone interviews.
  • Verify the accuracy of study forms and update them per protocol.
  • Prepare data for analysis and data entry.
  • Document patient visits and procedures.
  • Assist with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures.
  • Assist with interviewing study subjects.
  • Assist with study regulatory submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science (required).
  • Relevant research project work (0-1 year preferred).
  • Careful attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and demonstrate respect for subjects' rights.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of clinical research protocols.

Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Pay

$21 - $29.01/hourly (Grade 5). The base pay is an estimate based on minimum job qualifications; final compensation will consider skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors.
