Bid Pricing Analyst
About the role
The Bid Pricing Analyst position at CJ Schwan’s is responsible for leading competitive pricing analysis, developing and approving pricing, managing regional pricing strategy, driving profitability and growth, overseeing bid and contract management, collaborating cross-functionally, maintaining pricing systems and reporting, communicating and supporting sales teams, and monitoring deal performance.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate market positioning, competitor strategies, and regional trends to align with division pricing strategy.
- Conduct profit/loss, cost, and competitive analysis to recommend and approve pricing that meets financial targets and drives bid wins.
- Oversee pricing for assigned region or segment, ensuring consistency across accounts, markets, and contracts.
- Challenge pricing assumptions, analyze data, and identify margin enhancement opportunities.
- Lead direct bid projects, interpret contract terms, manage timelines, and complete pricing documentation.
- Partner with Legal, R&D, Risk Management, Marketing, Sales, and Accounting to gather data and ensure timely execution.
- Manage databases, audit data accuracy, prepare monthly and ad hoc reports, and monitor competitive insights.
- Serve as pricing point of contact, negotiate special quotes, recommend renewal pricing, and provide training and technical guidance.
- Review deal accruals (committed vs. actual), identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Years of Related Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related experience
Qualifications
- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Solid understanding of & experience in financial analysis
- Good communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient use of reporting & system tools (SAP, Bex, Cognos)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize & manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and counsel external partners & internal colleagues on process
- Ability to present to external business partners and senior management
- Experience in dealing with field sales personnel
- Excellent time management skills
- Analytical skills to conduct basic research data analysis and prepare recommendations
- Demonstrates logical analysis and problem solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of business practice and procedures in order to perform non-repetitive analytical work

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $54,000 - $65,000 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance.
