Overview

Duties And Responsibilities
- Conducts therapy and crisis intervention to assist consumers in reaching goals and provide necessary counseling and guidance to support behavioral changes.
- Crisis intervention for ensuring clients' safety and referral to appropriate level of care.
- Documents services performed for billing purposes, as appropriate, and well as therapeutic consistency.
- Prepares Person Centered Recovery plans and reviews in order to determine therapeutic goals and maintain consistency between sessions.
- Determines therapeutic needs and severity of symptoms for treatment and to meet regulatory requirements for the state.
- Determines therapeutic needs and severity of symptoms for treatment and to meet regulatory requirements for the state including use of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition (DSM-V) for development of differential diagnosis.
- Participate in trainings to maintain state and organizational requirements as well as professional development to ensure best practices with consumers.
- Maintain compliance with all credentialling agencies, state and federal requirements related to programmatic requirements of Texas Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Center's: documentation; training; clinical operations; clinical job duties and functions; and standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity and compliance with TCOOMMI Program Guidelines and Processes (PGP) No. 01.03 - Dually Diagnosed Residential Facility.
- Familiarity and alignment with all applicable sections of the Residential Services section under the Community Justice Assistance Divisions' (CJAD's) Standards for CSCD.
- Engagement and oversight of continuity of care coordination for all approved client releases.
- Timely and correct utilization and documentation in TCOOMMI WebApp electronic record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
- Requires a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences or related behavioral field supplemented by one (1) year of clinical services experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience with trauma-informed services; cognitive behavioral therapies, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and motivational therapies including the use of incentives, preferred.
- Experience with individuals involved in the justice system is also preferred.
Required Knowledge And Abilities
- Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principals, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions), preferred.
Physical Demands
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
- Routine and frequent exposure to: Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen; Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions; Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife; Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors; Traffic; Moving machinery; Electrical shock; Heights; Radiation; Disease/pathogens.

Special Certifications and Licenses
- Requires Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) Texas Licensure or Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) Texas Licensure.
- Must be able to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) in the timeframe designated by EHN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass a TB, criminal background, and drug screen.
