Benefits Specialist II
About the role
The Benefits Specialist II at Xenium HR is responsible for the day-to-day administration of ASO and PEO Benefit programs, providing support for technical enrollment, benefit solutions, and reporting. This role also involves independent and proactive direct consultation with client employees and management, advising on eligibility, benefits provisions, compliance, and other matters related to benefits programs.
Responsibilities
- Supports Xenium Payroll with accurate and timely information for benefit deduction administration, including plan changes and adjustments.
- Manages annual open enrollment for multiple clients, preparing and communicating with clients and employees.
- Handles new benefit implementations for existing clients to ensure accurate and timely enrollment in payroll and carriers.
- Supports benefit plan reconciliation research as needed.
- Trains new system client users on Benefit-related reports and actions in Prism.
- Collaborates with all service teams to ensure a high level of expertise and knowledge essential to Xenium clients.
Requirements
- A. A. or above preferred, with at least three to five years of benefits experience.
- Benefit system experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including ACA, ERISA, Section 125, 401k, and DOL.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to situations.
- Ability to interpret statistical tables and formulas and to perform mathematical calculations.
- Specialized computer skills to include benefits systems.
- Experience with Prism, ClientSpace, and Monday.com preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay
The starting salary for this role ranges from $31.21 – 34.12 per hour, based on skills/knowledge, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization. The hiring team will share more details regarding compensation based on your experience and location during the interview process.
Schedule
Hybrid (Tualatin/remote) Position Status: Full-time
