About the role
The Employment and Eligibility Services Division within the Health and Social Services Department assists citizens to become more independent and productive through programs designed to reduce dependency on welfare and promote personal responsibility. Also, it provides eligibility determination and benefit issuance for customers who apply for various public assistance benefits.
Responsibilities
- Apply regulations and procedures to determine eligibility for multiple public assistance programs
- Perform other related duties as required
- Manage related case records independently
Requirements
- Six (6) months of experience performing duties equivalent to an Eligibility Benefits Specialist I (Eligibility Worker I) in a California County Department of Social Services, or 13 full pay periods as an Eligibility Benefits Specialist I with Solano County within the last two (2) years
- A valid California Driver’s License
Qualifications
- No experience, but willing to learn
- Years of public assistance benefits experience with:
- Cal Fresh: 1-3
- Medi-Cal: 1-3
- Knowledgeable and experienced with CalSaws system
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or none of the above
- Possess a valid Driver's License
