About the role
The Benefits Specialist II will champion and drive key Human Resources initiatives and partner with leaders to provide an environment and culture that foster inclusion, growth, and high performance. This position is responsible for the design and support of HR initiatives throughout the enterprise, including the effective communication of HR programs such as training, engagement, and performance. Responsibilities
- Answer employee questions regarding payroll and benefit matters, invoking the assistance of appropriate team members when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment questions at the time of hire and during the annual open enrollment process.
- Schedule on-site wellness initiatives and provide oversight for the on-site medical clinic.
- Conduct and assist with various routine audits (i.e., 401(k), Dayforce, etc.) to affirm that data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with leaders to create a positive and productive work culture.
- Assist in the coordination of activities throughout the organization to drive connection, high levels of commitment, and employee engagement.
- Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to track trends and advise leaders on necessary actions to improve retention.
- Provide support to team members across the HR function; answer and respond to HR Connection calls, emails, and tickets in a timely and efficient manner while providing great customer service to employees.
- Work with various stakeholders to create and implement an effective employee onboarding process.
- Develop and deliver approved training presentations as requested.
- Support HR Business Partners during employee calibration and succession planning sessions as requested.
- Act as a liaison to assist the recruitment team with a smooth talent acquisition process.
- Oversee the onboarding and assimilation process for local new hires.
- Develop professional relationships with leaders and employees to proactively be aware of issues and opportunities that affect employee satisfaction and empowerment.
- Support engagement activities when appropriate for the site. Be a team member of the local Activities Committee and recruit/maintain local engagement committee involvement.
- Lead and participate in special projects as assigned, such as document control, policy creation, file maintenance, and budget management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
- PHR / SPHR Certification a plus.
- 3 or more years of human resources generalist experience preferred.
- Overall knowledge of all HR functional areas.
- Awareness of HR law and regulations, such as EEO, FMLA, ADA, WC, etc.
- Ability to be highly flexible with weekly and daily assignments.
- Possess the personality trait of being a team player in all situations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is very helpful.
- This position will be on-site at least 3 days/week.
