About the Role

The Benefits Specialist I plays a strategic role in delivering and managing global employee benefits. As the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, this role requires a polished, professional demeanor and the ability to interact with employees at all levels. The Specialist will ensure proactive, timely resolution of benefit issues and support the administration of InComm’s benefit programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service by timely completing employee enrollment and benefit change requests.
  • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries via email, telephone, and virtual meetings.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all company-sponsored benefit programs to ensure accurate and effective responses to employee questions.
  • Produce and maintain standard reporting requirements for benefits plans.
  • Understand and apply domestic compliance requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, and FLSA.
  • Provide administrative support for annual reporting, plan audits, and required annual notification mailings.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve enrollment, participation, or coverage issues.
  • Gain proficiency in InComm’s payroll systems and processes, serving as a key contact for the Payroll team when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (required).
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR/Benefits department, preferably within a large corporation.
  • Prior experience with Workday or a similar HCMS system (required).
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including V-lookups, Pivot Tables, and Filters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand benefit plan components and their impact on participants.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, FLSA) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing workflow and deliverables in an organized manner.
  • Knowledge of international benefits is a plus.
