About the Role

The Benefits Specialist I will strategically deliver and manage global benefits for our employees, serving as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries. This role requires professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service by addressing and resolving employee benefit inquiries proactively and timely.
  • Manage employee enrollment and changes to benefit plan participation, records, and reporting.
  • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries via email, telephone, and virtual meetings.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of company-sponsored benefit programs to ensure accurate responses to employee questions.
  • Produce and maintain standard reporting requirements for benefits plans.
  • Develop expertise in domestic compliance requirements (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, FLSA).
  • Provide administrative support for annual reporting, plan audits, and required notifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve enrollment, participation, or coverage issues.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Payroll team, understanding InComm’s payroll systems and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR/Benefits department, preferably at a large corporation.
  • Experience with Workday or a similar HCMS system.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), including V-lookups, Pivot Tables, and Filters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to develop and maintain a deep understanding of benefit plan components and their impact on participants.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, FLSA) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow and deliverables effectively.
  • Knowledge of international benefits is a plus.
