Responsibilities

  • Advise employees, retirees, and dependents regarding employer provided benefit programs, eligibility for medical and dental coverage and payroll deductions.
  • Day-to-day support in the administration of benefit programs, such as managing qualifying life events for employees and verifying dependent eligibility.
  • Participate in auditing and reconciliation of benefits enrollment records and deductions.
  • Work regularly with the City's eCHRIS (PeopleSoft) database.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in an employee benefits program, including six months of experience in handling or processing claims.
  • Two years of college plus one year of personnel related work experience.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience using PeopleSoft (eCHRIS).
  • Two or more years of experience in Benefits Administration (such as processing Qualified Life Events, New Hires and dependent eligibility).
  • One or more years of experience reviewing employee payroll deductions.
