About the role

The Crime Victims Compensation (CVC) Program seeks a dedicated Benefit Program Associate to assist victims of violent crimes. Key responsibilities include reviewing and recommending compensable claims, managing caseloads, and collaborating with local and state partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and review documents from local and state partners to ensure claims meet state statutes and rules.
  • Conduct independent reviews of each claim and supporting documentation to determine compensability.
  • Make recommendations and provide rationale for compensable or non-compensable claims.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with program staff, state, and external partners to support program objectives.
  • Participate in outreach activities such as PowerPoint presentations and in-person visits to promote the program.
  • Answer the program's main phone line and provide customer service.
  • Participate in job-related trainings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of relevant experience in case management, advocacy, probation and parole, compliance, or victim assistance.
  • Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as a basis for denial.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Superior problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Able to multitask and maintain organized, detailed records.

Pay

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If eligible, a pay differential may be added to the total compensation in your paycheck.
