Bench Tech I

About the Role

As a Bench Technician at Scientific Games, you will serve as an in-house service and repair technician, performing servicing and repair of company products at an established repair site or service center. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures, as well as performing maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired products. You will also handle inventory tracking and general warehouse duties, including inventory management, shipping, and forklift operation.

Additional responsibilities include oral and written communication with field-based technicians, assisting in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, training new and existing team members, and creating presentations or reports on bench and equipment activities. Some travel to customer locations for on-site work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures in company products.
• Perform maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired products.
• Track inventory and manage warehouse duties, including shipping and forklift operation.
• Communicate with field-based technicians regarding diagnostics and repairs.
• Assist in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
• Train new and existing team members.
• Create presentations and reports on bench and equipment activities, issues, and performance.
• Travel to customer locations for on-site work as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Understanding of and experience with troubleshooting computer software and hardware technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to promptly respond to customer and leadership requests and feedback.
• Proven self-starter with motivation and ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills for effective multitasking.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to determine cost-effective repairs.
• Availability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift, install, and move large self-service equipment (regularly lift or move 35 pounds or more).
• Ability to travel overnight if needed.
• Ability to drive a non-CDL delivery truck.
• Pass background check, DOT certification, drug test, and maintain a clean driving record.
