About the Role
This position is accountable for the success of store and donation center operations, including the achievement of sales and revenue goals, customer and donor growth, and serving as a community partner to promote an engaging customer experience. The Store Manager implements strategy for daily store and donation operations, oversees staff, and ensures the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs while maintaining the operating budget and managing expenses.
Responsibilities
- Leads and develops talent by managing departmental structure, staff development, and training. Actively networks and sources for team positions.
- Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental functions and supports change management.
- Engages with the community by understanding social trends and championing Goodwill’s initiatives.
- Optimizes workflow, inventory management, and work schedules to maximize sales and production team output.
- Ensures achievement of customer and donor service goals, revenue, and margin targets.
- Maintains store presentation standards in accordance with guidelines.
- Operates, troubleshoots, and trains others on store processes, equipment, and customer service.
- Supervises safety audits, consumer product safety compliance, and incident rate targets.
- Calculates accurate projections to achieve budgetary goals and ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reports.
- Anticipates business needs, proactively solves problems, and completes additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience.
- Forklift certification, if required at the site.
- Proficient in Windows-based PC and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work a varied schedule with flexible hours, including at least one closing shift per week and every other weekend as scheduled. Additional nights and weekend shifts may be required to meet business needs.

Physical/Sensory Demands
- Remain stationary for sustained periods and move about to accomplish tasks.
- Operate a computer and similar technology, involving substantial motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Visual acuity for preparing data, operating equipment, and reviewing work.
- Communicate with others and exchange information.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Perform movements such as lifting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to retrieve objects.

Pay
Placement within the salary range considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands, and other qualifying criteria. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range.
