Job Description
The Bellman is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by assisting with luggage handling, guest arrivals and departures, and providing information about the property and surrounding area. This role serves as a key first and last impression of the hotel and is expected to maintain a warm, professional, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Greeting guests upon arrival and departure with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Assist guests with luggage handling, storage, and delivery to guest rooms.
- Escort guests to rooms and provide an overview of room features and hotel amenities.
- Provide information regarding hotel services, local attractions, and directions.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, bell desk, and luggage storage areas.
- Cook up with Front Office and Concierge to ensure seamless guest service.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Additional Duties & Cross-Functional Support
- Aid with valet parking services as needed, including safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles.
- Operate and drive the 14-passenger shuttle bus to transport guests to and from the airport or other designated locations when required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, driving, and company policies when operating vehicles.
- Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager based on operational needs.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to operate a 14-passenger shuttle bus (or willingness to be trained).
- Must meet company driving eligibility requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift. Physical Demands: Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and stooping. Climb ladders of various heights. Must be able to push, pull and lift to 50 pounds. Expected Hours of Work: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Must be flexible to work various days and various shifts of the week to include weekends, holidays, days, nights and overnight.
Additional Job Information/Anticipated Pay Range
- Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
