About the role
Under general supervision, provides bell and valet services to hotel guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort by promptly and courteously responding to requests. Works with the Doorman to greet all guest arrivals and departures.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests arriving via all forms of transportation
- Assist guests with retrieving luggage from vehicles
- Note existing vehicle damage on key tags
- Escort guests and luggage into the lobby for registration
- Explain valet parking procedures and fees
- Provide directions to the registration area
- Park vehicles securely and mark key tags with location, guest name, license plate number, and vehicle type
- Drive vehicles safely and efficiently
- Open vehicle doors to assist guests
- Respond to guest questions about transportation, hotel services, local events, points of interest, and activities
- Assist guests with unloading luggage and transporting it to their rooms, either personally or using a luggage cart
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times with guests, associates, and vendors
- Greet guests professionally within 5 feet in public areas
- Take initiative to offer assistance or answer questions throughout the hotel
- Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
- Engage in continuous training and personal development, focusing on hospitality, technical skills, and proactive problem-solving
- Learn about other hotel departments formally or informally
- Offer improvement ideas and acknowledge good performance of others
- Use empowerment to exceed guest and associate expectations and resolve conflicts
- Work as a team to ensure guest satisfaction
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of basic customer service skills
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Knowledge of local establishments, businesses, and the surrounding community
- Ability to drive automatic and manual vehicles
- Valid driver’s license
- Driving record that meets the needs of the insurance carrier
Physical Demands
- Ability to see objects and people up close and at a distance
- Ability to grasp handles, carry bundles, and lift packages
- Ability to continually push, lift, and carry up to 65 lbs throughout the shift
Work Environment
- Physically strenuous role involving prolonged standing, walking, and climbing stairs
- Intermittent exposure to outside elements
- Primarily an indoor position
