Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR a High School Diploma/GED with Passage of the ParaPro Praxis assessment (BAYADA assistance available)
  • No experience necessary
  • Complete RBT Academy and pass the RBT Exam to become an RBT with BAYADA!

About the Role

Become an RBT with BAYADA! Seeking recent graduates, Paraprofessionals, Skills Trainers, Educational Assistants (EA), and those interested in working with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams
  • Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
  • Document interventions and progress towards goals
  • Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
  • Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
  • Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Skills

Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), ability to work with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs), strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to document interventions and progress, ability to collect behavior data, ability to provide training and instruction, ability to support students in developing independence and interpersonal skills.
