School-Based Behavioral Technician Trainee, Behavioral Health

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking dedicated employees to support children and young adults diagnosed with Autism. The ideal candidate should have or be interested in obtaining their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential, which is essential for providing services in Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with children and young adults diagnosed with Autism in Hawaii Island School Districts
• Provide services under the supervision of BAYADA
• Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
• Support the student in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine

Requirements

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or the desire to pursue certification (training provided by BAYADA)
• At least 18 years of age
• Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
• Attention to detail and ability to document interventions accurately

Schedule

• Most shifts are between 7:30am and 2:30pm
• Monday through Friday
• Commute for more hours possible
