School Behavioral Technician Trainee, Behavioral Health

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) candidates to support children and young adults diagnosed with Autism in Hawaii Island School Districts. Positions are available in various locations including Hilo, Honoka'a, Laupahoehoe, Waimea, Kohala, Waikoloa, and Kona.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with children and young adults diagnosed with Autism
• Provide services on ABA or insurance-based contracts in Hawaii
• Follow established service plans and implement behavior therapy techniques
• Collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Train, instruct, and assist students to acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
• Support students in developing interpersonal skills, personal relationships, and independence in their school routine

Requirements

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to pursue certification (training provided by BAYADA)
• At least 18 years of age
• Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
• A minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Pass a background check and drug screening
• Be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
