Behavioral Health Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support clients in our residential housing program during second shift hours [3p-11p]. The BHT plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment by monitoring residents, supporting daily routines, and reinforcing program expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and support residents in the housing environment to ensure safety, structure, and compliance with program rules
- Conduct regular checks and observations; document behaviors, incidents, and shift notes accurately
- Support residents with daily routines, community expectations, and recovery-focused activities
- De-escalate situations appropriately and follow crisis intervention and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with clinical, housing, and operations staff during shift handoffs
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential care, or human services preferred
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and a calm presence in a fast-paced environment
- Strong observation, documentation, and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
