About the role
The Behavioral Health Technician I position at OCD Anxiety Centers requires evening hours, specifically Monday to Friday from 11:00 am - 8:00 pm. This role is part of an evidence-based practice dedicated to helping individuals and their families overcome anxiety disorders.
Responsibilities
- Engages clients through clinical interactions, assisting with skill development and interventions.
- Maintains high standards of care, providing a supportive environment for clients.
- Facilitates and supports groups within the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
- Maintains and monitors clients' daily activities according to the treatment plan.
- Manages business resources to enhance client and organizational benefits.
- Develops and implements lesson plans for group settings.
- Maintains accurate and organized documentation.
- Practices de-escalation techniques and crisis management.
- Promotes teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
- Continuously improves skills through supervision and oversight.
- Ensures client satisfaction by aligning with OCD Anxiety Centers values.
- Complies with company policies and adheres to professional conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Some college education or relevant experience.
- Ability to think critically and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in computers, including Google Docs, Sheets, and other software.
- Accuracy and efficiency in electronic data entry.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance record.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and multitasking skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience or training in OCD, anxiety, or trauma.
Skills and Expertise
- Understanding of the client level system, disorder modules, and EMR system.
- Knowledge of youth clients' core concepts, safety, and family involvement.
- Ability to implement, support, and document behavioral contingency plans.
- Proficiency in facilitating various therapeutic groups.
- Understanding of systematic issues affecting the treatment floor.
- Knowledge of Crisis Response Plans and how to respond effectively.
- Proper techniques for de-escalation, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
- Understanding of controlled use key holder responsibilities and managing red cart items.
- Ability to use Kindles during group sessions and manage their inventory.
- Understanding of IOP policies and addressing concerns regarding attendance.
- Knowledge of telehealth services and how to run exposures through them.
- Ability to access and write in clients' general notes.
- Ability to promptly notify therapists of behavioral, safety, or attendance issues.
- Ability to use coping scripts and run exposures in the community.
- Ability to access and administer weekly surveys.
- Ability to store, audit, and dispose of food exposure items correctly.
