About the role

The Military Behavioral Health Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, with a specific focus on treatment of complex trauma and PTSD.

Responsibilities

• Work with an interdisciplinary treatment team to create a therapeutic milieu
• Provide group, individual, and family therapy with the military population
• Utilize treatment modalities including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodrama, and expressive therapies

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a human relations field required
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in trauma/PTSD treatment or in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred
• Direct experience in individual and group therapies, crisis intervention
• EMDR trained
• Fully licensed to practice in the State of Utah as a mental health professional
• CPR certification required
• Successfully complete training for restraints and seclusions prior to assisting in any patient restraints or seclusions and within 90 days of employment
