Behavioral Health Therapist, Day Shift, Behavioral Health (Inpatient)

Shady Grove Medical Center - Behavioral Health seeks to hire an experienced Behavioral Health Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus. (*Current AHC employees not eligible.)

About the role

As a Behavioral Health Therapist you will:

• Initiate and implement complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments
• Provide individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families
• Participate in an interdisciplinary treatment team to propose and develop strategies and interventions that promote excellent therapeutic outcomes
• Assess and intervene in cases of suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse issues
• Document services provided and disseminate information/reports to community referral sources and agencies (e.g., DJJ, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC)
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources for aftercare and supportive services to ensure a successful discharge planning process
• Promote positive patient-family-community relations
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety and stability
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent Master’s Degree in a recognized health field
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical social work experience, preferably in medical or behavioral health settings
• Current licensure as LGSW/LMSW/LGPC in the State of Maryland or equivalent licensure
• Proficiency in conducting substance use assessments with ASAM criteria
• Experience facilitating group therapy with adults and/or adolescents preferred
• Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
• Typical Daily Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm
• Shift Type: Day Shift
• Weekend rotation requirement
• Required to work 2 major and 2 minor holidays per year
• Shift Differential Eligible: Yes

Pay

• Pay Range: $29.08 - $48.25 per hour
• $10,000 sign-on bonus over 3 installments (paid at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years of hire date)
• *Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus if transferring from one entity to another or within their entity. Employees who have terminated employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus.
