About the Role

Provides direct and indirect psychiatric care under RN supervision for individuals or groups of patients, ensuring their needs are met through age-appropriate interventions and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes de-escalation, restraint, and seclusion techniques when necessary.
  • Processes admissions, discharges, and conducts intake assessments.
  • Monitors and documents patient conditions, behaviors, and responses to care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Administers medications following physician orders and safety protocols.
  • Conducts routine rounds, evaluates interventions, and supports patient education.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient safety and care quality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; associate's or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience in mental healthcare preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license required.
  • Certification in Aggression Management (TEAM/CPI) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Strong communication, observational, and patient advocacy skills essential.
