About the role
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at ERC Pathlight is responsible for providing direct care to inpatient and residential patients. This includes supporting patients through various activities, ensuring safety, and participating in therapeutic programming.
Responsibilities
- Maintains daily program structure by following the program schedule
- Completes observation rounds and safety checks as ordered by the physician
- Works with patients on de-escalation and implementing coping skills according to the treatment plan
- Takes patients out on fresh air breaks and provides patient transportation for medical appointments (as needed)
- Takes patient vital signs, weights, and urine specific gravity (as needed)
- Assists in group therapy sessions (as needed)
- Provides meal support and bathroom monitoring
- Completes documentation of patient observations, meals, and individual check-ins during the shift
- Assists with morning routines and Activities of Daily Living while patients are in the spa or bathroom
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record (only for certain locations)
- 6 months of direct patient care experience (preferred)
- Mental Health or Psych Tech certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of ERC milieu experience (for internal candidates)
Qualifications

Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a calm and supportive demeanor

- Basic first aid and CPR certification (preferred)

Schedule
The Behavioral Health Technician works a rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday
