Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

About the Role

As a Behavioral Health Tech at Oakwood Springs, you will support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN. Your role ensures the consistent delivery of the schedule/program, patient supervision, safety maintenance, and respectful treatment of patients and guests.

Responsibilities

• Support the therapeutic milieu under RN direction.
• Ensure consistent delivery of the schedule and program.
• Supervise patients and maintain safety.
• Treat patients and guests with respect and dignity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), with proof of insurance if using a personal or hospital-owned vehicle.
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
• Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
• Completion of additional age-specific training within 30 days of employment as required.
• Where applicable, obtain and maintain agency affiliation.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a psychiatric health facility preferred.
• Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients is a plus.
