Behavioral Health Supervisor, Preschools

About the role

Kamehameha Schools is seeking a Behavioral Health Supervisor to lead and supervise a team of 3 Behavioral Health Specialists in preschool settings. The position involves providing behavioral health counseling services, crisis support, and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Behavioral Health Specialists
• Provide behavioral health counseling services to students individually and in groups
• Provide crisis intervention services following established protocols
• Support overall well-being of students
• Participate on Student Success Team
• Communicate with families and help coordinate off-campus professional services
• Teach classes to students and serve as a resource on behavioral health topics
• Facilitate workshops for parents
• Provide 24-hour on-call crisis/emergency intervention services

Requirements

• Master’s degree AND State of HI Licensure in a clinical field (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, psychologist)
• 5+ years counseling experience with preschool-aged children
• Experience in preschool/early childhood settings
• Registered Play Therapist (RPT) or experience with play-based/expressive therapies
• Supervisory experience a plus
• Flexibility for travel to 30+ preschools

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health or related field, 5 years' experience providing behavioral health counseling to age-appropriate children, State of Hawaii licensure in a clinical field, demonstrated ability to facilitate group counseling activities and teach classes on behavioral health topics, excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, good public speaking skills, strong listening skills, ability to relate well to a variety of people.
• Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of and sensitivity to Hawaiian culture and Christian values, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Supervisory experience, Experience with counseling age-appropriate children and working with families.
