Behavioral Health Specialist
About the Role
The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills groups, self-monitoring and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups, self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement
- Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment
- Provides resident support and in-the-moment skills coaching
- Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, supervision, and/or case consultation meetings and seeks supervision when needed
- Completes clinical documentation in compliance with The Emily Program and Veritas policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in mental health-related field required. If degree is not in a mental health-related field, a degree in another field and equivalent experience required
- Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive
- Previous direct mental health experience preferred
Schedule
Full Time, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week, working (4) 10-hour shifts per week. Shifts can be scheduled for either 9:00 am–7:00 pm or 7:00 am–5:00 pm depending on site need. Includes every other Saturday or Sunday.
Location: 41 Perimeter Center East, Dunwoody, GA 30346
Pay
Starting hourly rate between $21–$25. Final compensation offered will be within this pay range based on qualifications and experience.
