BEHAVIORAL HEALTH RECOVERY COACH II

About the role

We are hiring a Behavioral Health Recovery Coach II to provide support to individuals with mental health, substance use, and chronic health conditions. This position includes assisting with recovery-oriented activities, collaborating with family and caregivers, and linking individuals to various services.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with learning adaptive behaviors and avoiding triggers that lead to relapse.
• Provide training on treatment regimens, recovery concepts, and self-care skills.
• Collaborate with family members to develop interventions addressing specific needs.
• Develop and implement support groups for individuals with substance use, mental health, or chronic health conditions.
• Support individuals in accessing social service systems and other recovery-oriented systems of care.
• Complete educational intakes, observations, and evaluations to assist clients with starting or returning to school.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and skill development for individuals as needed.
• Assist individuals in overcoming personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational and employment goals.
• Link individuals with education-related community services and accommodations.
• Participate in staff meetings and other department and/or agency activities as required.
• Represent Catholic Charities Family and Community Services on appropriate committees.
• Participate in regular individual supervisions and team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Services clients in multiple counties in the regional area/network (12-15 counties).
• Remote work acceptable as approved by supervisor.
• If peer certified: Provide peer services, share personal recovery experiences, and serve as a personal guide and mentor.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field required; minimum of 1 year of experience working with persons with substance use, mental health disorder, and chronic health conditions (internships/volunteer duties may be acceptable).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with persons with substance use, mental health disorder, and chronic health conditions.
• Physical Demands/Work Environment: Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands to type, and performing light lifting up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Additional Requirements: Demonstrate ethical business practices, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have previous experience working with diverse populations, including low to moderate-income families, and demonstrate full adherence to the CCFCS Code of Conduct and all policies/procedures related to compliance.
