About the role

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking Licensed Mental Health Practitioners for the Division of Behavioral Health at the Norfolk Regional Center in Norfolk NE. The Norfolk Regional Center is a psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient mental health and sex offender treatment. This role involves facilitating process therapy groups, providing individual therapy, developing interdisciplinary treatment plans, and responding to crises situations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate process therapy groups to address mental health issues including sexual offending issues.
  • Provide individual therapy to individuals with mental health and sexual offending issues.
  • Develop interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Provide consultation in treatment team meetings, clinical meetings, discharge planning meetings, and program development meetings.
  • Complete monthly progress notes for individual and group therapy cases as well as other required documentation.
  • Respond to crises situations and utilize de-escalation interventions.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Behavioral Health Practitioner IV: State of Nebraska licenses as Mental Health Practitioner and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Behavioral Health Practitioner III: Nebraska license as Mental Health Practitioner or Nebraska license as Alcohol and Drug Counselor AND Nebraska Provisional License as Mental Health Practitioner or Nebraska Provisional License as Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Behavioral Health Practitioner II: Nebraska License as Mental Health Practitioner.
  • Behavioral Health Practitioner I: Provisional license to practice as a mental health practitioner in Nebraska.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates who are fully licensed as a LMHP are preferred but those with a provisional license will be considered.
  • A current LADC is not required but preferred.

Compensation

  • Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner AND Alcohol and Drug Counselor with the State of Nebraska or as LIMHP: $35.989/hour.
  • Mental Health Practitioner or Alcohol and Drug Counselor License AND a Provisional license in the other: $33.478/hour.
  • Licensed as Mental Health Practitioner: $31.143/hour.
  • Provisionally licensed applicants: $26.547/hour until fully licensed.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30 PM. Additional $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked.
