Behavioral Health Peer Specialist - Outpatient Behavioral Health - FT - Days - MRH

About the Role

Provides oversight and coordinates the group activities and events for Behavioral Health Services.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual peer mentoring and/or recovery coaching.
• Contributes to new member and renewal member campaigns.
• Participates in outreach and aftercare recovery activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) - Florida Certification Board (FCB)
• Driver’s License
• Automobile Insurance, if applicable
• Lived experience of recovery from mental health or substance use disorders
• Complete WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training within 6 months of hire
• Obtain the Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) designation within 18 months of hire

Skills & Experience

Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Other skills include time-management, knowledge of community resources, and strong written communication skills.

A minimum of one (1) year of related experience is required.
