About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Prioritization and triage of care delivery
• Implementing established standing orders and protocols
• Performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure
• Executing prescribed treatments and medical interventions
• Administering prescribed medications
• Monitoring and documenting treatment progress and patient response
• Referencing/consulting with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns
• Educating patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions
• Documenting patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices
• Participating in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes
• Tracking quality assurance data and monitoring for acute and chronic care management
• Promoting mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abiding by service behavior standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
• One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
