About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital provides comprehensive care to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include prioritizing and triaging care, implementing established protocols, performing procedures, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general nursing care according to established standards and procedures.
  • Obtains and documents patient health history, vital signs, and health risk factors.
  • Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Consults with physicians, other healthcare providers, and community resources to address patient needs and concerns.
  • Educates patients and families about their health status, health maintenance, and managing acute and chronic conditions.
  • Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms and automated systems.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Monitors and tracks quality assurance data to ensure effective care management.
  • Promotes the organization's mission, vision, and values while adhering to service behavior standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, and community resources.
  • Familiarity with health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.
  • Positive attitude towards patients and a strong work ethic.
  • Critical thinking skills within the scope of practice.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity for handling complex and delicate equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology and equipment.
