Behavioral Health Clinician III - Family Medicine

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for all eligible Behavioral Health Clinicians. Eligible candidates must be hired into a full- or part-time position; bonus amounts are prorated for part-time hires. Per diem hires and current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until greater than 3 months of separation from employment.

About the role

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Behavioral Health Clinician to join our primary care team in a unique dual-role position that combines direct patient care with residency education. This role is divided between:

• 16 hours per week of direct patient care within an integrated primary care setting
• 20 hours per week as a residency faculty member, providing education, consultation, and mentorship to primary care residents

The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing integrated behavioral health services while fostering residents' knowledge, confidence, and skills in addressing behavioral health concerns within primary care. The work is enhanced by being part of a medical team with solid experience in integrated work. Collaborative work with psychiatrists and other integrated clinicians in the MaineHealth system adds to the experience. Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Clinician III, working under an independent license, provides comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting assessments
• Developing treatment plans
• Providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions
• Demonstrating specialized skills in three out of nine advanced skills domains, such as Teaching, Quality & Process Improvement, Research, and Supervision/Mentoring

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP), or the National Addiction Studies Accreditation Commission (NASAC)
• Licensed as an LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT by the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
• At least three years of behavioral health experience as an independently licensed clinician
• Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20 to $104,353.60 per year. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
