About the role
Pioneer Human Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician III to join our mission-driven team. This role offers opportunities to make a significant impact in the lives of justice-involved individuals.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality counseling, case management, education, and community support services to clients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders using evidence-based and promising practices.
- Diagnoses mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (e.g., DSM-5) and ASAM requirements.
- Collaborates with other Pioneer behavioral healthcare providers and community partners based upon the clients’ Individual Service Plan.
- Provides behavioral health services based upon identified treatment needs specified in the clients’ Individual Service Plan and in accordance with employee’s education, training, and certification.
- Complies with documentation and filing requirements according to applicable WACs, agency, and funder policies.
- Recognizes, respects, and maintains professional boundaries with clients.
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of community resources.
- Affords assistance to first responders as needed (i.e., police and medical personnel).
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or related human services field with curriculum related to counseling and psychology.
- Must possess a current mental health associate’s license (i.e., LMHCA, LMFTA, LSWAA, LSWAIC) or an Agency Affiliated Counselor plus two years’ experience in direct treatment of person(s) with mental illness or emotional disturbance, such experience gained under the supervision of a mental health professional recognized by the department or attested to by the licensed behavioral health agency.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain AAC credential within 60 days of hire – per WAC requirements.
- Preferred/Desirable: 1 year of experience in mental health, behavioral health, or another related human services field, SUDP/SUDPT (dually credentialed), valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance, and a driver's abstract/driving record acceptable to Pioneer’s auto insurance company, and meets the Mental Health Professional (MHP) criteria in Washington state.

Compensation ranges from $31.96 to $42.62 hourly, depending on factors such as work location, experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market conditions. Benefits eligible after 30 days of full-time employment (minimum of 30 hours/week).
