Behavioral Health Specialist III

Summary

Under the direction of Clinical Nurse Manager (Inpatient)/Program Director (Partial) and Unit Charge RN, the Behavioral Health Specialist III (BHS III) provides care and safety to children and adolescents as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Key responsibilities include milieu management, supervision of BHS I & II, and orientation of new staff.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate milieu treatment and oversee behavior management plans. - Monitor documentation of BHS I & II in electronic medical records. - Supervise BHS I & II regarding job performance and professional development. - Develop and implement in-service programs for milieu staff. - Recommend and carry out hospital disciplinary policies. - Interview and evaluate prospective staff members. - Consult with treatment team, families, and outside agencies. - Schedule milieu staff, including vacation and personal days. - Observe hospital rules and regulations. - Perform other related duties as required. - Liaise between BHS and Unit RNs.

Minimum Qualifications

- Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field preferred, other education and experience considered. - Over three years in Milieu Therapy or a related field with demonstrated competence in childcare techniques. - Ability to perform independently within Program policies and practices. - Supervise up to 10 FTEs.

Pay Range

$22.04-$36.37
