About the role
The Charge Registered Nurse utilizes theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care according to established standards of nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Achieve patient safety and quality outcomes by providing safe, effective, compassionate, and comprehensive care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN.
- Maintain a valid RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
- Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
- Hold one or more of the following certifications based on the position/unit hired:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Complete other unit-specific certifications as required.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, prolonged standing and walking during shifts, gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to perform duties.
