About the role
Under the supervision of the Associate Program Directors, develops, coordinates, implements, and maintains behavioral treatment plans for students. Provides direct online care to school students ages 3-18. Assists the Associate Program Directors by precepting and contributing to the evaluation of Behavioral Classroom Specialists.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct behavioral management to students both within and across classrooms.
- Responsible for assessing classroom staffing needs and assigning coverage on a daily basis.
- Monitors unit acuity throughout the day and reassigns online staff as necessary.
- Coordinates and maintains school-wide behavioral management system.
- Responsible for becoming familiar with the classroom-based behavioral treatment plans of all children in a select number of classrooms (e.g., all adolescents).
- Assists Classroom Behavioral Specialists in translating treatment team plans into classroom-based behavioral treatment plans.
- Teaches Classroom Behavioral Specialists how to develop and implement behavioral treatment plans.
- Facilitates problem-solving among online staff under the supervision of the Associate Program Directors.
- Assists the Associate Directors by clinically precepting Classroom Behavioral Specialists.
- Assists the Associate Program Directors in the Classroom Behavioral Specialists clinical performance evaluation process.
- Responsible for orienting new Classroom Behavioral Specialists.
- Interviews prospective Classroom Behavioral Specialists for employment and gives feedback to the Associate Program Directors.
- Responsible for developing school-wide activities with the Senior Teacher.
- Co-leads peer review meetings with the Senior Teacher.
- Maintains required hospital certifications.
- Maintains required departmental certifications.
- Observes all Nursing/Milieu Department guiding principles/policies and hospital policies/procedures, including those pertaining to quality improvement, quality assurance, risk management, and infection control.
- Perform other duties as assigned, required, or directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in human service or a related field.
- Three years in acute milieu therapy setting with demonstrated competence in utilizing behavioral management skills (preferably within a school setting).
- One year of demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a psychological clinic for children and adolescents.
Pay
$24.29-$40.07 per hour
