Observation
- Observes patients to detect behavior patterns.
- Reports observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.
Trauma-Informed Care
- Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care.
- Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
Communication and Intervention
- Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns.
- Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws.
- Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience
- Must have a High School Grad or Equiv.
- Technical/Vocational School preferred.
- Field of study in a Social Science.
- Of work experience in an Inpatient/24-hour-per-day mental health/substance abuse setting preferred.
