Behavioral Care Associate Full Time Days

Observation

  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns.
  • Reports observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.

Trauma-Informed Care

  • Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care.
  • Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.

Communication and Intervention

  • Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns.
  • Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws.
  • Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience

  • Must have a High School Grad or Equiv.
  • Technical/Vocational School preferred.
  • Field of study in a Social Science.
  • Of work experience in an Inpatient/24-hour-per-day mental health/substance abuse setting preferred.
