This is a key role whose primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for adult clients who have co-occurring disorders (substance use disorder and mental health disorders) at The Camp Recovery Center, a 74-bed treatment center in Scotts Valley serving adults on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services to patients under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients at all times; acknowledge and work to resolve complaints when patient needs are not met.
- Prioritize patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision is conducted at 15-minute intervals or as noted in individualized supervision guidelines.
- Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in patient medical records.
- Assist in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, significant others, and staff.
- Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
- Oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration, and changing bed linens.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
- Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
- Engage patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
- Complete and maintain required documentation.
- Assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents and events that may take place in the facility.
- Provide or coordinate transportation for patients as needed.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
Pay
Calculated hourly range for this role in California: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule
Full-time position with 8-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Overtime eligible.
